LUSPA Board Inaugurated
Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority (LUSPA) Governing Board Sworn In
The Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Hon, Dr Kwaku Afriyie has sworn into office a seventeen-member (17) Governing Board of Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority (LUSPA) to steer the affairs of the Authority.
Hon, Dr Kwaku Afriyie noted that the membership of the board includes people with professional integrity drawn from different public institutions. They are expected to bring to bear the rich expertise acquired over the years in providing strategic direction to ensure the attainment of the overall goal of the Authority.
Hon. Dr. Kwaku Afriyie therefore urged the Board to take immediate steps to address the human resource and logistics challenges of the authority and also support efforts to make the authority visible in its service delivery.
The chairman of the Board, Professor Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa indicated that it was important for all stakeholders to support the planning functions of the authority to achieve orderly settlement development in the country.
He assured the Minister that, the Board would leverage on the past efforts of the authority to build further collaboration, coordination, cooperation and new partnerships with stakeholders to propel the authority onto greater heights to continue to deliver on its mandate.
He informed the sector Minister that the immediate plans of the Board Members of the Authority among others, would be to make the authority self-sufficient with accrued revenue from Land Use and Spatial Development Fund and also complete the Head Office Building Project for the staff.
The members of the Board are; Mr Ebenezer Sam (Ministry of Works and Housing), Dr Kodjo Esseim Mensah –Abrampa (NDPC), Naa Puowele Karbo III (National House of Chiefs), Surv. Dr Joseph Kwaku Amaglo (Ghana Institute of Surveyors), Pln. Kwadwo Yaboah (LUSPA), Madam Suweibutu Adam (Ministry of Lands and Natural Resource), Ing. Kwabena AgyeiAgyepong (Ghana Institute of Engineers), Maame Ama Adumadze – Acquah (Office of Administrator of Stool Lands), Pln. Michael Kofi Mensah (Ghana Institute of Planners).
The others are; Surv. Jones Ofori Boadu (Lands Commission), Dr Christine O. Asare (Environmental Protection Agency), Seth Osei-Akoto (Ministry of Food and Agriculture), Ing. Philip Lartey (Ministry of Roads and Highways), Mrs Lydia Essuah (Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation), Pln. Samuel Seth Passah (Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development), Arc.Nana Akua A.A. Oppong – Birmeh (Ghana Institute of Architects).
