Spatial Development Framework

SDFs provide a strategic vision (desired future) forspatialdevelopment at the National, Regional orDistrict levels over a 20 year period. It includes decisions on the distribution and coordination of future housing areas, future development projects and support opportunities for local and foreign investments.

  • The National SDF is at the top of the hierarchy and provides a spatial expression to social, economic or other policies at that level.

  • Regional SDFs are coherent with the national and regional policies and plans

  • District SDFspresents a spatial dimension of the Medium Term Development Plans (MTDP) and other relevant national and regional-level policies, plans and programs.
